Jules Robson

Robson Sensei has been studying Japanese Ju Jutsu for over 35 years.  He started studying a modern self-defence style of JuJutsu (Shorinji Kan) in 1987 in the U.K. After achieving Instructor status, Jules moved to Cyprus in 1992 where he ran the Cyprus Jitsu Association for 5 years. Having then lived in Japan for 3 years, Jules moved to New Zealand  where he took up the position of Chief Instructor for Jitsu Australasia from 2003 - 2010. In 2012 he established a new dojo in Laingholm, Auckland to study and promote  traditional Japanese Ju Jutsu styles. He trained and lead study groups in both Takamura-ha Shindo Yoshin ryu (Koryu) and Kokodo (Nihon densho) Ju Jutsu.

The Auckland TSYR Dojo is called Kawanishi Dojo. This reflects that the Dojo is in the West (nishi) Auckland and is surrounded by rivers (kawa) of the Waitakere ranges. Jules is a TSYR Shoden mokoroku licensed instructor.
